Terms of Reference
Aim:
The LGBT Coalition Group aims to ensure that Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender communities within the Borough of Swindon are able to participate in reviewing, planning and development of the Services of Swindon Borough Council.
Objectives – LGBT Coalition will:
- Act as a consultative forum on all the services of Swindon Borough Council
- Provide an effective mechanism to ensure that the views of LGBT communities can be represented
- Ensure that the Council is accountable for securing equality of treatment in relation to employment and the provision of all its services
- Provide a regular networking opportunity to enable representatives of LGBT communities and organisations to meet and share information on a regular basis
- Facilitate the undertaking research, publicity and educational initiatives, which promote equality in the Borough of Swindon
- Lobby Councillors and Central Government on equality issues that to date exclude the LGBT communities
