The LGBT group is a coalition of people who live or work in the Borough of Swindon. We
aim to ensure the Council's agenda, policies and services recognise
equality of opportunity and positive action for the lesbian,
gay men, bisexual and transgendered community.
Our promise: "We promise to champion your rights as lesbian,
gay, bi-sexual and transgender people in Swindon in order to establish equality in
school, work, housing and all aspects of your life."
At all levels within the council,
staff and councillors as community leaders need to be aware of
the sensitive issues surrounding sexual orientation, and be committed
to wiping out discrimination. Regardless of political preferences,
equality is an issue we encourage community leaders in Swindon
to be committed to. We must ensure improvement to peoples lives
and the social well-being of this area.
Membership of LGBT Swindon is open to all. We meet for one evening every other month in Swindon.
